Meet The Team

Reece Hobson–Adams

Director of the Foundation

Reece joined Fletchers Group as its Responsible Business Manager in January 2022. In that time, he has developed The Group’s three-year Responsible Business strategy, which enabled the development of Fletchers Foundation.

With the support of the Group’s exec leadership team and the Foundation’s first 3 trustees, Reece successfully constituted the Foundation and put the policies and processes in place, ready for the launch of the Foundation.

Reece brings a wealth of business management, marketing, and social impact experience from his nearly 10 years working across the private, public and third sector.

Professor Paul May

Trustee

Professor Paul is an experienced Neurosurgeon with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital & health care industry. He is skilled in Clinical Research, Medical Education, Paediatrics, Oncology, and Medicine.

Since 2019, Professor Paul has been the Director of Clinical Academic Development at the University of Liverpool and is also currently the Non-Exec Director for The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust.

Fletchers Group has worked with Professor Paul as a consultant on complex cases with neuro-disabilities following injury.

Irene Afful

Trustee

Irene has amassed an extraordinary amount of experience throughout her career. During her 30 years’ working in the public sector – including 25 years with the Police Service – she has advanced the leadership and equality and diversity agenda on a national platform, gaining a wealth of knowledge, qualifications, and skills along the way.

Before starting her own business, Irene was a Detective Inspector for Merseyside Police – the first black, female inspector in the history of the organisation.

Irene is bringing a wealth of experience to the Foundation, especially in safeguarding and equality and diversity, ensuring our grant programme is fit for purpose.

Adrian Denson

Trustee

Adrian joined Fletchers Group in December 2011 as Head of Serious Injury, leading the Serious Personal Injury department, and tackling all cases that involve catastrophic, life-changing events. In that time, he has done his utmost to enable his clients to get back on track and rehabilitated into a new (and hopefully just as good) life.

In spring 2017, Adrian was appointed our Chief Legal Officer and now oversees all the serious injury teams across the business

Adrian was selected as of one of our first Trustees in order to offer help and support to those people who are not able to claim for their injuries but have seen their lives change beyond recognition and are in need of a way forward.

Richard Fraser

Trustee

Richard joined Frenkel Topping as a Director in 1991 and is now the Group’s CEO as well as the Chair of their charitable foundation. His brother broke his back falling out of a window when he was only 18 and has been paralysed from the waist down ever since.

The accident has given Richard a good insight into the effect a catastrophic injury can have on an individual and their family, and it is this first-hand experience that drives Richard’s passion and why he was keen to become a trustee of Fletchers Foundation.
